THE PROCESS
Here’s Exactly How It Works.
From application to your first appointment — and everything in between. No surprises. No hidden complexity. Just a straightforward partnership built around one hour of your time per client.
You apply. We onboard you. Clients book in. You run the appointment. You get paid. That’s the whole model.
THE PARTNERSHIP JOURNEY
From First Contact to First Appointment
Most new partners complete onboarding and have their first appointment within one week of being approved.
Submit Your Application
The application takes about five minutes. We ask for your name, province, bar number or notary registration, and a short note about your practice and why you’re interested in the partnership. We review every application personally — this isn’t an automated intake process.
We’re looking for licensed professionals who are a good fit for the WME model: someone who’s comfortable with a structured appointment format, has (or can arrange) a professional meeting space, and is genuinely interested in a reliable income stream.
We’ll respond within two business days.
A 20-Minute Discovery Call
Before we formally approve your application, we’ll schedule a short call — 20 minutes, no more. We’ll walk you through what the opportunity looks like specifically in your city: available booking volume, how many appointments you can realistically expect in the first month, and what similar partners have experienced in your market.
This call also gives you a chance to ask anything you want — about the documents, the process, the payment structure, or anything else. We want you to go into this with full information.
There’s no obligation after this call. If it’s not the right fit, we’ll say so — and so can you.
Onboarding — Usually Under a Week
Once approved, we walk you through three things:
1. The WME process — how appointments are structured, what documents are produced, what your role is at each stage, and what clients typically ask.
2. The document templates for your province — you’ll see exactly what a completed will, power of attorney, and healthcare directive look like from our system, and you’ll have a chance to review and ask questions before you see a real client.
3. The booking system — we’ll show you how client bookings come through, how your calendar is managed, and how to flag availability or block time off.
Most partners complete onboarding in one or two sessions. If something comes up on a real appointment, you can reach us.
Your First Appointment
When your first client books, you’ll receive a notification with their appointment details. Before the appointment, you’ll receive a summary of their pre-appointment questionnaire responses, and the system will prepare their documents — will, power of attorney, and healthcare directive — based on that information.
You review the documents before the client arrives. If anything looks off or needs adjustment, flag it and we’ll sort it. In practice, most documents need only minor changes, if any.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE APPOINTMENT
One Hour. Four Documents. Done.
This is the appointment format. Every WME appointment follows this structure. The documents are already drafted — your job is to review, advise, and execute.
Welcome & Document Review
Your client arrives. You welcome them and give them a moment to settle. You have their completed questionnaire and pre-drafted documents in front of you. You’ve already reviewed these before they arrived. You briefly introduce yourself and let them know how the appointment will run.
Walk Through the Will
You guide your client through their will section by section. You confirm beneficiaries, executors, guardian appointments if applicable, and any specific bequests. Most clients have no significant changes. You answer questions as they come — this is the professional value you bring: your judgment, your clarity, your ability to flag issues a layperson wouldn’t notice.
Power of Attorney & Healthcare Directive
You walk them through the power of attorney document (financial and property) and the personal care / healthcare directive. Confirm who the designated attorneys are, what powers are granted, and any conditions. Again, most clients need minor or no adjustments. Answer questions and note any final changes needed.
Final Adjustments & Signing
Any document changes noted during the review are applied at this stage. You then guide your client through the signing process for all four documents. You witness signatures, then notarize each document according to your province’s requirements. Everything is executed at this appointment — your client does not need to return.
Wrap-Up
You hand your client their completed documents and confirm what they have. You briefly outline what they should do next — keep originals in a safe place, let their attorney know where documents are held, and schedule an update in 3–5 years or if their circumstances change. WME handles the annual update reminder. The appointment is complete.
The four documents produced at every WME appointment:
Will ยท Enduring Power of Attorney ยท Personal Care Directive ยท Healthcare Directive
(Document names and provincial requirements vary slightly by province โ your onboarding will cover the specifics for your jurisdiction.)
WHAT YOU GET AS A PARTNER
The Infrastructure Is Already Built
This is everything WME provides to every partner — from day one and ongoing. You don’t build any of this. You plug into it.
๐
National Marketing
We run the advertising, SEO, and content that brings clients to the WME platform. You benefit from national brand investment you didn’t pay for.
๐
Online Booking System
Clients book directly into your calendar through our platform. You control your availability — we manage the booking flow and confirmation process.
๐
Document Preparation
Every client completes a questionnaire before their appointment. Our system uses their responses to prepare all four estate documents before you meet them. You review, not draft.
๐ณ
Payment Processing
We collect payment from every client. Your 75% is calculated and paid to you on a regular schedule — no chasing invoices, no billing clients yourself.
๐
Annual Update Reminders
WME contacts every past client annually to encourage a document review. This drives repeat appointment bookings back to you — entirely automated, on our side.
๐ง
Ongoing Platform Support
Questions about a document? Something unusual in an appointment? Our team is reachable. We’re not a set-it-and-forget-it franchisor — we’re an active partner.
THE MONEY
How You Get Paid
May vary slightly by province
The 25% service fee covers everything WME provides: national marketing, client acquisition, online booking infrastructure, document preparation, payment processing, annual update reminders, platform support, and ongoing development. You have zero overhead to match against it.
Your earnings are paid on a regular schedule — we’ll confirm the exact timing during onboarding. You don’t invoice clients, you don’t collect payment at the appointment, and you don’t chase anyone. It’s calculated from your completed appointments and transferred to you.
For a full breakdown of what different appointment volumes look like as annual income, see our Earnings page.
Ready to Apply?
You’ve seen the process. It’s straightforward by design. If it looks like a fit, the next step is a five-minute application and a 20-minute call.
